New gasket

Did you guys who have burned off your gaskets get a free one from the mother ship? Mine is about a year and a half old and I was avoiding cooking a pizza because I didn't want to burn it and sure enough it did the first time. They made me pay $40 to get a new one. They said the gasket is only good for a year.

That is not cool of Mother Ship. Maybe no one told them there is a problem with gaskets ]Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

He tried to blame it on the pizza until I told him I cooked it with the legs up like they suggest.

I tried and they simply stated it was not a warranty item and I would have to buy it.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

He lied to me and told me they don't replace gaskets for free and I told them I'd seen it countless times on this forum and he changed his story and said that it was only covered for a year.

5. TEMPERATURE GAUGE AND GASKET: Gaskets and the Temperature Gauge carry a Limited One (1) Year Warranty to the original purchaser.______________________________________________I love lamp..

I torched mine and got a free replacement but am wondering if it is worth the trouble to replace since it's the same kind that was burned (while cooking pizza at about 600). Are there better high temperature gaskets available?

I use a Rutland gasket that I got from Rutland Ron a while back. I love it. Haven't had any gasket issues since. I love it.Here's some reading material on gaskets as you think about a replacement:
