Pork Butt defrost question

I took a frozen pork butt and put it in the refrigerator a day ago and it is still frozen. Can I put it in cold water to finish defrosting it so I can put rub on it tonight and then put it in the fridge over night to smoke in the morning?

You can Egg it frozen. Doesn't affect the cook much if at all. I assume the outside is thawed enough to hold the rub. Good luck.XL,L,SWinston-Salem, NC

I thaw my turkey that way but I think I'd put the butt in a sealed bag.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN
