High temp flame kissed pizza
Hotrodden
Posts: 16
How hot is to hot for a pizza? Dome temp gauge had gone past 300 after making a full loop. Pamper chef stone is still alive and kicking. Wife thought it was going to be in a million pieces.
Lets keep the beer cold and the eggs burning!

Looks good Hotrodden, surprised you didn't get more char at those temps.
May want to check your bands and tighten if needed. Hate to see ya lose a dome next time you open the egg.

Pizza looks great. How does your gasket look now?

lol I emailed my ol man the picture of the thermometer @ 1000 degrees. He thought that was a photo of my egg that high...he gave me a scolding lol

At that temp, how long did the pizza take to cook. Those flames are great.

what model is that tel-tru?
-
That's wierd. I just went out to check and both eggs have 750* ones. I must have pulled it when I was doing a low and slow on both eggs. I have a brand new one in the drawer and it has no model number on it either. It is one of the 5" stem ones we used to get before Tel Tru started making the egg length ones. I would go to the tel tru site and see. The manual covers model numbers that seem to have a numeric suffix. I expect that would be the difference

Indirectly through me he is. He actually surprised me and bought the one I have as a gift. He knew how much I wanted one and decided to surprise me after he sold his condo. If he was younger he would have gotten one himself but he decided to buy one for me. -
That's great you get to share your Eggcitement with your Dad! Enjoy!Flint, Michigan

Yeah I was blown away, I mean my Dad is and always has been generous but I never expected to get something like this. I tell you what, it's the best material gift I've ever received. I was grilling on my Weber like 15 - 20 times a month, getting the green egg was like going from a Ford Tempo to a Lambo.
