I'm going from TN to McAllen TX. Any regional lump I might pick up?

    That is one long drive!! I have friends in McAllen. What route are you taking through Texas?

    If mesquite doesn't throw you off, Central Market Mesquite lump, can be found at Central Market and HEBs. B&B Oak Lump charcoal is pretty good as well.

    If you are making your way through Arkansas I would highly recommend Ozark Oak Lump. Its awesome and only .50c/lb You can find it mostly at Harps Grocery stores. Although it appears you will be heading more south than west so i am not sure you will make it through AR. Either way you can't beat the price in the area.

    I'm not going through Arkansas or I would. I've heard great things about it. I'm Houston to MS to Al to TN. I like BGE lump and the corp office said they'd give a good discount for a big order. Just haven't found a real go to.

    I meant lump made from mesquite wood, vs oak or others.

    If you like BGE lump, Royal Oak and Kroger brand are the same thing, but cheaper.
