Probably a poor question but why the V-Rack?
    Thanks--just learning.
My swing rack should arrive shortly.

Because I have one :)) nothing other than that. If I were doing more butts, I would go without.

  • It does make it easier to remove without it falling apart on ya, but it's not necessary.

  • After cooking some bread for the first time I started dinner.  By the way, 550 degree platesetter + cheap welding gloves = 2nd degree burns on some fingers.  Started with some Twice Baked taters and then some rib eyes.  Had plenty of room throwing since I threw the taters in my cast iron pan on the uper rack.  When I came back out with the stakes, being able to swing that rack over to the sideand put the steaks on.  When the steaks went on, you could here that sizzle as it hit the carbon steel.  Love that sound.  Steaks came out great.  Awesome grill marks, no sticking at al to the grate.  So much better than the std egg grate.  Would highly reccomend.  Sorry no pics.

These are great for removing meat and pulling pork. Also one of the cheapest things I've bought for the egg.

When your friends say, "that is the best Pulled Pork I have ever eaten anywhere", it's a huge compliment. Much appreciated. Great dinner and drinks. :)

@cgw1 if your company isn't on Instagram, you are missing out.

Saw you and following you. Use hash tags with a "#" sign such as #CeramicGrillWorks, #CGW #BigGreenEgg, #BGE #Smoker #GrillPorn #FoodPorn #BBQ etc. that's how people search for pics.

You can comment in the pics you have already done. Some Instagram applications allow edits. You can always delete them and repost the has tags in the comment or description field. Look at mine for examples.

@CGW1 The swing rack is on my Christmas list. When would be the best time to place an order to ensure it is here for Christmas? Obviously now would be the logical answer, but my wife will be buying it. I want to let her know so it is under the tree on Christmas morning. If she finds out that there aren't any in stock closer to the holidays, she is likely just to get me something else. We don't want that! :)

@ cortguitarman - I'm sure by Christmas things will be jumping again, I would order it now, I out of stock, this way once restocked, I can either send it out and you can have an early Christmas gift or I can hang on to it for you and ship it closer to the holiday insuring you get one for Christmas.

    Hope this makes sense??

Got the rack this evening. Beautiful. Cant describe it any other way. And heavy duty. Franco you have a winner here. The original post is long enough and it can be adjusted in height as well. Looking forward to putting it into service tomorrow.

@ Aviator - I'm very happy to hear to that. The post kit isn't really nessasary, but if you want to make adjustments when using the platesetter, the post kit would be nice to have, it's truly just an accessory.

Hi wickedisland, I'm not familiar with Tom's products, hopefully someone else will chime in that has both our products. Why would you think it wouldn't work??

Toms has two handles that the SS grill fits over. I like the handles b/c it makes it easy to lift the whole deal, plate setter and all out of the egg at once. I like raising the grid so ordered the woo. I may just go with yours anyway :)

I understand, with the handles there I'm not sure, it may work. Should you decide to order it, and it doesn't work, send it back and I'll refund you. Just please don't use it. Hopefully you will like it enough to keep both and now you have more toys to play with and more options.

  • Thanks Franco, If I order it I know I won't send it back
