Putting the Egg in the Table

I know this may sound silly, but does anyone have any suggestions for lowering the egg into the table. I am building my own table from steel and 1" square tubing and then will tile the top ( I will post pictures pretty soon.) but I am concerned with lifting my LBGE that high and then lowering it through the hole.

Just use two strong men. That's how I did mine. We just put the bottom half in the hole, then attached the lid. It was a lot lighter that way.

Make sure it isn't assembled. I had a friend help me. I reached inside the egg and placed my hand through the lower vent slot, and then had him support the egg from below after lowering it into the table. I wouldn't want to lift it fully assembled.

Or rig up something like what I did (search this forum for forearm forklifts) - have a picture.

Two people can do a large fairly easily (if they can lift 90 pounds). You can separate the hemispheres and take out the firebox/ring. I didn't bother. It was pretty easy.

I had the same concerns as you when i built my table.It's only me and my wife here so I made my table soi could slide it in and wouldn't have to life it so high. i now have a pot lifter as previously mentioned.
