Wanted to put on a bit of an appy night for my wife. So I prepared the Dill Pickles the night before, I used a 50/50 mix of regular syrup and real maple syrup, and then cut regular dill pickles into bite size pieces and then wrapped those with bacon, and ran a toothpick through to hold it in place, and into the syrup mix for a night in the fridge.
Fired up the Egg and settled it in to 300 degrees. Put on ABT's and let them get introduced to the lump. Grilled them for about 45 minutes and then tossed the dill pickles onto the grill as well. We use a recipe From Necessary Indulges website for the maple wrapped bacon pickles. Thanks Kristi. ( they were awesome) Grilled everything for about another 35 minutes. Tied all this together for a great appy night. Margarita's to help wash them down. Nice and Tasty!

what is ABT?

Atomic Buffalo Turd. ABT. Do a search. Stuffed jalapeno's with cream cheese wrapped in bacon. Then grilled, you gotta try em. I split them about 3/4 of the way from the top, right to the bottom and then pull out some of the seeds and fill with cream cheese or what ever. Check out the posted pictures, you will get the idea. good luck.Large, small, and a mini

Sounds fascinating. I looked around
http://necessaryindulgences.com and couldn't find the specifics. Can you elaborate? You soaked the pickles in syrup and then wrapped in bacon and cooked? -
@Seanwiley, go to her website, and look under appetizers.I cut full size dill pickles into bite size pieces, then wrapped bacon around the pickle and ran a toothpick through to hold bacon in place. I used a 50/050 mix of real maple syrup and regular syrup. Put the pickles into the mix and left them in the fridge overnight. Grilled them about 30 minutes at 300, till the bacon was done. You get a sweet, sour and bacon taste all at the same time.Try it.She has a really great blog.Large, small, and a mini
