I want to move my egg and have misplaced the white plastic parts used to keep the hinge close enabling the bans to be remove. Any and all ideas appreciated ie, where to buy, other ways to hold hinge, ways to move large egg. Thanks

Tie wraps will do the job but go back to your dealer and ask for a pair of retainers. If they assembled your egg (or if they assemble any egg) they likely keep the retainers and should hand them over gratis.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. I use mechanic's wire

if you hold the dome open the springs are easy to pop off and put on with a screw driver, about 5 seconds each. no need for the plastic clips

I am about ready to embark on this task too and my dealer told me that they loosen the bottom band and then you slip the top and the whole hinge off in one piece. Sounds like it should work but I haven't executed this plan yet. I am probably going to zip tie the hinge too just in case.

I took my dome off to do a gasket replacement last week. No retainers, no wires, no spring removal. Just use some common sense, have someone hold the handle as you pull off the dome, than slowly raise it up
