I just bought some cedar planks at Costco today. They had a 6 pack for $9. I paid $6 for 2 at Lowes last week. The planks look nice and thick too.

cheapest by far
cedar undercourse shingles, big box store. 8 bucks for a ton of them. some too small (narrow), but i actually used them for some shims during construction. or to light a fire.
no... they are not 'treated' cedar shingles

I've used a ton of those in my line of work...Roofer for over 30 years... ;;)Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

You may want to check, I don't think they would have a lifetime warranty. Probably only able to return them.
-
Hope they're not chemically treated, like fencing is... :(_____________

they aren't.
cedar fencing isn't treated anyway. cedar is naturally resistant to rot.
if you mean treated for fire retardency, the shingles are required to be labelled as such, and they would command a premium.

I use the cedar shims all of the time. I thought hey might be too thin for cooking on the egg.Mark Annville, PA

I have never cooked on planks. Are planks used more than one time?

use once and throw away.

Hmm, you could give that a few coats of shellac and sell them as Modern Art!
