Is it against the proper etiquette to list my large nest, large cover and side tables that will be for sale on this forum?

Slow, it's a weekend project with a friend of mine who lives out of town. Right now I am in the process of trying to find a 20" x 20" slab of absolute black granite. Once I find the slab I have someone that will do a custom etching in it for me, going to put the NC State bell tower on it. This slab will be an insert in the table. I guess we are going to use cedar for the table although we have kicked around the idea of cypress and teak. So as of right now we have some sketches drawn up and some rough plans. I really want a drawer and cabinet on this but I think it may be difficult to do this. If anyone has any good plans or ideas please let me know. We plan on making the first cuts next weekend

Travis,Are you ready for the vegetarian diet that Michelle O. is putting the military on? "Hey Sarge, please pass the broccoli with the low fat cheese sauce, please."__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious

She better stay way away from me. She has got to be the least qualified person to mess with the fighting man's diet. I do, however, agree that the food they serve in the chow halls down range are not the best fuel a body could have.
Boatbum, my pleasure. Remember, we all volunterred. Thanks are appreciated but, not nessasary. If they start drafting folks... well, thats another story.
Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here. -
Hey Travis,SI do, however, agree that the food they serve in the chow halls down range are not the best fuel a body could have.
Our food was so bad at Ft. Sill (1967-1968) that, although an officer had to be present at each meal to ensure the food was OK, they all refused to eat it. They'd just sit there for the period, and then probably go for a hamburger in town after that. Some things never change.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
I would be remiss if I did not also extend the same thanks to Village Idiot - and all other veterans who may read this forum.

I remember scrambled eggs and ham, and spaghetti. Both were pretty good. We used to trade for what we liked the best.I always thought of them as C-rations, not sea rations, but I never saw it written, so I don't know.@-)I think they call them MRE's now.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
MRE's = meals rarely eaten. Hehe.
Actualy, they are not too bad, if you're hungry.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here. -
Some of the new MREs have a small opening that you pour in a bit of water, seal it, and set the MRE down flat for a few minutes. A chemical reaction inside the bag gets very hot, heating your lunch. They're pretty popular around here for the hunters.
The average life expectancy of a (russian) soldier on the (Ukranian) front line during an assault is 20-35 minutes.

You're right, all the MRE's for the last at least 10 years have had that water activated heater in them. It makes a big difference. I recently sold about 4 cases I had laying around the house to some hunters. My absolute favorite is the chicken W/noodles. It has M&M's in it

Travis a war story for you. In the late 50’s we were
stationed in Germany. Of course all our Dad’s were in the Army so in Scouts we
would camp out at the Nike (got to have age to remember Nikes) missile site in
the Black Forest next to post. Our food was always C-rations (that because all
C-rations contained packages of cigarettes). We were 10 year old boys…….
Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd. -
When I was in A-Stan, all we had to eat was MRE's for about 4 months. Needles to say, we ran out of smokes all the time. We would kill time by talking about what shameful act we would do for a cig. Usually, the talk would turn to complaints about how much BS it was that they didnt put Cigs in MRE's anymore.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.
