Been researching and still Confuzzled: DIGI QII, Digiq DX? or Stoker?

I see you are in Augusta, I am over in Aiken.

Cool. There are a few of us on this forum from the CSRA.
I had the Digi q and liked it a lot, but sold it to a friend so I could get the Stoker. Both are nice, but I'm glad I got the Stoker because it is a lot more versatile than the Digi.
Have you been to Fireside on Broad St. In downtown Augusta? They just started to sell the BBQ Guru products. So you can see the Digi firsthand if you haven't already. If you never seen the Stoker, I can show you it. -
Go to The Naked Whiz's site. He tested them and wrote his results.

I make the trek to Fireside to get my Wicked Lump; the 2 Stores in Aiken just carry BGE Pieces with an occasional lump thrown in -
I talked to the owner there and told him he needs to carry Blues Hog sauce. As you might know, Blues Hog sauces are some of the best. He told me he is talking to the Blues Hog guys so he can carry it. He carries a lot of different sauces and rubs(full line of Dizzy Pig rubs). It would be easier on me to run downtown to buy the Blues Hog sauce from him rather than order it online, but I will order it online if I have to. Love the stuff.
Royal Oak lump , which you can buy from all the area Walmarts, is the same as BGE lump. I like the Wicked Good lump, but 25 bucks is a lot for it. I have gone over 25 hours on a smoke with Royal Oak and my Stoker. -

In the end, they really all accomplish the same thing. It comes down to what features sway you one way or another.
- Do you want Wirless monitoring?
- Multiple Cookers?
- Food temp monitoring as well as pit?
- Just something basic to control temps?
I have a DigiQ that I got a couple years ago, and it works great. If I were to get one today, it'd be a Stoker hands-down. Pound for pound it has the most features of the all, as well as more flexibility from a monitoring perspective. Having said that, if you're just looking for a cheap simple controller, then the Auber looks good. -
I think the stoker will compliment my ECOBEE thermostat

Ended up with the CyberQ II from my local Egg Dealer; Fireside Outdoors in Augusta Ga.
-
Maybe a little more about controllers... more of a hands on and not so much a list of specs.
Crap... the forum won't allow the information - too long. If you more of a hands on difference between several controllers email me and I will send the information to you off line.

This part of the forum change is a real pain in the a$$.
I would put a link to the old post but again the forum won't link to it, it only takes one to the forum page. Looks like my links & tips are a thing of the past.

Stoker works great. I love that I can monitor and adjust when away from my house too.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html
