13 lbs spare ribs

My son bought spare ribs for tomorrow....13lb long should then smoke?

    Did you open the package? Are you sure it's one slab? Spares will normally go 6 plus hours at 250 dome temp.

    Open them up and see what the are exactly. 13 lbs doesn't' sound right.

    That does sound too big. But, if they are that big, I'd probably do a 4-2-1 approach. Smoke em for 4 hours, wrap em for 2 hours then unwrapped back on for 1 then check for readyness. Enjoy!
  • They are 3 racks in the package. He has them on 225. Put them on at 8:30 this morning (about an hour and a half ago). What time do you think he should check for doneness?

    Start checking about 5 hrs in but should go 6-7 hrs. If that's dome temp you might want to bumb it up to 250
