Cooked some ribeyes and been meaning to do a clean burn so I figured tonight is the night. cookin right along at about 700+ then started smelling something, was it the gasket or the soot? I popped the lid a couple a times and the gasket seems to be in tact.

Did a clean burn today on large #1 after a years cooking. Buried the Tru-Temp at 1000* and needless to say after cutting the top loose with a knife, I'm in the market for a Rutland gasket. If you smell something a little "off", rest assured it's gasket.
