No to all of the above. :)

Try this. Seems to work well for everyone who's tried it.

    Good luck.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I put mine on a raised grill with tin foil below them on the regular grill top so I guess you would say I cook them indirect. I usually try to keep my temp from 200-215 and cook for 4-5 hours. I do not wrap mine in tin foil after cooking as some do, I think it makes them too greasy. After slow cooking for 5 hours they will almost fall off the bone.

You will find about 1000 suggestions on here from eggers that have their favorite way to do ribs.....in the end, the best way for you is the way YOU like best.....no one way fits everyones taste and enjoyment!

  • Okay, after much searching and taking some tips from felow eggers, I am going with the reciepe on the main site.... it looks like it may work for the time frame I am hoping for. Does anyone know do I lok for tenderness with a fork or toothpick or shall I check for internal temp for doneness?

Baby backs will pull away from the bone when done, about 1/2" :)

Using your tongs, pick up a rack by one end. If they bend down almost double, they are done!

  • I got about another fifteen minuntes accoring to the method on the BGE main site receipe section... thank for the advice fellas... I am using a sauce for those who want it.. a spicy black cherry BBQ sauce... (i'm doctoring up a store bought bottled sauce) I used hickory and cherry chips for smoke and used cherry juice in the pan instead of apple juice. I also used the Dizzy Pig'S Dizzy Dust for the rub. I am taking pictures, but need to figure out how to post them. I will post them to this tag when I figure it out. i will definately be eating first.......

Mine are about 3 1/2 hours in. I do mine 250 raised direct for 3 then foil for 1 then cook until right with sauce for last 30 min. Would love to hear how your turned out; what temp did you end up smoking them at?
