I'm making a big pot of New England clam chowder (includes heavy cream and half & half) and wonder how well some leftovers might fare in the freezer. Any suggestions? As always, TIA!!~~

many of the larger seafood chains here freeze it for shipping...and many restaurants buy frozen and defrost (the crap you see working for a food distributor in college.....)

I think you will be fine. Not sure how long it would last before flavor starts to degrade...

i'd think it's less a flavor issue than the clams getting mushy, but it's probably fine.

I bring home a quart or three from various outlets in Boston just about every time I visit. Always frozen, and it always thaws and tastes just fine.
