read alot of posts..........tonight........on turkey.....cooking a bird tomorrow 325-350 stuffed for 4.5-5.5hrs...........plan on cooking in v-rack, in a foil pan with apple juice and liquid to keep moisture..........later in cook I will throw tin foil over to keep bird moist.......... any thoughts? oh debating on either apple/sugar maple or pecan chips as well.

How big is the bird??? My guess is it's not going to take nearly that long! Cook to internal temp, not time! Pull at 163* breast, and allow to rest 30 minites, then carve.

Turkeys cook much faster on the egg then in an oven since it cooks like a convection oven. A 12 lb bird takes around 2 hours and a 17 lb bird around 3 hours. Your target temp for the breast is 160 and the thigh is 180...good luck.
