Here is the process to getting great burgers with a crispy cheese skirt around the burger

Next grill the burgers and get the crispy outside with the great smoke flavour

Place burgers on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper top burgers with graded cheese I used marble cheddar and mozzarella place in oven at 450

Bake burgers until cheese gets crisp on the bottom approx 10 mins

Place on buns with favourite condiments and enjoy

I saw that on a triple D show. Next time melt the cheese on the egg - cheese takes up the smoke flavor really well.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

I've never seen a burger like that before. Looks delicious!

Really liked the last pic. -
That was last nights dinner. That is snow here in Ontario it is only plus 1 degree
I have tried to do the cheese on the egg I think that the oven is a more fool proof way
Try these burgers and you won't want a regular burger again -

Looks great, Adam. Any special tricks? Cheddar or American cheese?
-
That was mostly american but I also had some habanero paperjack to crumble in the mix. The 2 joints that 'say' they made them first. Matt's and the 5-8 club both put american in them. the 5-8 will do about any cheese now though.
Or a play from Stevens playbook and add onions, bacon, salsa, bomba, anything you'd like.
