New Custom Egg Table - Pic Heavy

We used 18 biscuit joints in the joints of the top boards. In between each board is at least 3 biscuits. The biscuits prevent the boards from flexing north and south. To avoid gaps in the boards (like gaps you'd notice if you were to look down onto the table top) we had three heavy duty clamps that squeeze the boards together. The glue we applied beforehand set up and locked the boards in. THe long and short of it is we used plenty of biscuits and we utilized clamps and glu as much as possible.

WOW! Pretty much makes my tables look like they were made out of Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys.
You did a beautiful job, and should be very proud of your work.BJ (Powhatan, VA) -
Very nice work.

Thanks for the reply BK, Suwanee lumber is the only place that I found Cypress and as you said it was in random widths, a co-worker has a planer so I guess I could have him cut it to size or just but a pre-made table for about $100 more!
-
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, we used cypress. We read up on it and it is a perfect wood to use for outdoor use.
-
HAHAHHA!! Thanks man! I haven't heard that one before!
-
HAHAH!! Thanks BJ! Do you make tables for the BGE?
-
I've made tables for my mini and small eggs, but had to stick with pressure-treated lumber, since the price of cypress around here is way out of my range.BJ (Powhatan, VA)
