I recently purchased a thermopen from mollyshark, who was extremely helpful and sent it out in a very timely fashion. If I ever need another i will buy from her. That said, :woohoo: I am pissed that I didn't buy one sooner. If you are on the fence about purchasing one then don't be. It's a little pricey but well worth it! :woohoo:

They are a nice tool! Would not be without.

I recently purchased one too and wish I had not waited so long. They are so easy to use with the instant temp read out.

I use mine damn near every time I fire up the egg.

I agree...I received one for X-mas and LOVE IT!!
The battery lid had broken tabs to hold it on when we got it, one phone call and I had one in my mailbox in 2 days, for free...
Great company. Thinking of getting a couple of their other thermom's for other uses now... -
I use mine all the time even cooking indoors. It is great for checking water temp to proof yeast.

What's a thermopen?

Its an instant read thermometer. Expensive, but supposedly the quickest out there. A great quality cooking tool.Bx - > NJ ->TX!!!All to get cheaper brisket!

Should buy even before your first Egg. We cook to temp with an Egg, toss your watch.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

Regarding cooking to temp vice time-that's about the first rule of cooking regardless of device. Hopefully it is not a foreign concept to those who are serious about trying to produce a quality product.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I've given them as gifts to family members who don't even own an Egg <gasp!>. The feedback has been great. My brother claims he's no longer afraid to cook, because in order to keep things safe, he'd cook things to death (not that what he was cooking, wasn't already dead). It makes things so much easier, when you don't have to guess. You'll find you can duplicate results much more consistently, when you swap temperature for time. Like Mickey said - toss your watch.BJ (Powhatan, VA)

Same here when I used to make sausage. I was asked to cook them WAYYYYYYY past the point of safe food temps. Now I had proof the food was safe at 165, and that's what it looks like.Bx - > NJ ->TX!!!All to get cheaper brisket! -
I smoked a turkey yesterday for Easter.
I used my new thermopen for the first time.
WOW
I wish I had purchased sooner
