Smoked a Fattie

With the weather starting to warm up, -10
Thought it was time I smoked my first Fattie.
I used the pork I ground last week, and it was wrapped in a weave of bacon
Some pics
This was easier than it looked, will used better bacon next time.
The pork was seasoned and put in a ziplock, then rolled flat.
Stuffed with cheese, shrooms, onions, and more bacon
The top of the bag was trimmed off and the stuffing layed out
Rolled up with the ends tucked in
Wrapped in it's blanket of bacon.
The grey skys opened up and lit up the fattie
The Fattie was put on for about 4 hours at 250 dome. Pulled at 170 internal temp. I used some cherry wood for smoke.
Sliced up
Served up with some eggs, very tasty.
Thanks for looking
Shane

The bacon weave and finished fattie look totally awesome!
Did you use a basic indirect route (i.e. plate setter) or do you have it on a raised grid?
Keep posting the great cooks/pics!
-Ken -
Shane, that's one professional looking fattie along with sunny side up eggs!
-
Gotta say that's the tasiest looking meal I've seen on here in a while. Way to smoke a fatty... what time was it? 4:20?
-
Thanks Ken
Yes, this was done indirect.

Thank you Rebecca
Everything looks better wrapped in bacon

Thanks Big Badger

I have bookmarked this and added it to my "things to eat after I give up on the new years diet" folder :P.
That does look great. Did you use plain ground pork or some type of ground sausage product?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
