Christmas ideas?
I have no suggestions. I don't really feel the need for a Stoker or DigiQ. Suppose one would be nice, but I really don't lo n slo enough to justify the cost. Never could see the point of an Adjustable Rig. Don't ever cook enough food to need more than one level. I already have a platesetter/pizza stone/CI grid. Plenty of CI skillets and DOs. Have a wok too. The only thing I've thought of is a spider. Not even sure what that would do for me.Anyone have any ideas? Or am I maxed out?! Thanks.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

How about some Well's BBQ sauce since you like carolina q. She could buy you a couple of gallons of it for you.

A spider would be good to hold the wok.You can pair it with a small diameter CI grid and get really close to the coals for a nice sear than put on a higher level to finish steaks. You could Trex at 350-400 dome.

Sold! They are about as eastern NC as u can get! Looks awfully red, but worth a shot. Thanks!!

While I don't often cook enough food to need more than one level, I use the AR for most of my cooks. I find that it is great for chicken because it raises the meat up in the dome. That allows me to go direct for crispiness without worrying about flare ups charring the meat.
I use the spider a lot too - whenever I cook indirect. It is a more efficient use of space than the platesetter. Now days, I keep my platesetter clean so I can use it as the indirect piece for bread. I use a pizza stone in the spider for indirect meat. Despite using a drip pan it gets greasy. I don't want the grease smoke hitting the bread.
Anyway, that's just what I think. You could also ask for a year or two's supply of lump, rubs, sauces, some really nice meat, a wok, or a bag full of tools and toys for your BGE. -
Thermapens are worth their weight in good food.

Yeah, I keep thinking about a spider. I have a broken large CI that I keep meaning to cut down to size. I haven't because I don't have a spider. Thanks, Hoss.

Thanks, Dave. I keep threatening to learn to bake bread. Maybe you have a point.

I love it, I can send you some if you want to try it first. I have a little less than half a gallon left and can pack a sample up for you until I go back across the state line.

Yeah well, I should have asked her for that LAST year. I bought it myself. Sigh.
Nice thought though!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

im pretty maxed out as well. only thing ive considered is upgrading my remote to the et732, but im waiting on that to see if prices drop. could also use a couple knives but the few i have work for mefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I have to agree with Dave in SoCal. I use my AR on most of my cooks. If nothing else, it raises to grid to a more 'useable' level, where you don't have to dip down to flip burgers, etc. Gets ckn higher in the dome for direct cooks, plus the multilevel capacity when you might occasionally need it.

Have a T-pen, sauces are always a good choice. Yes, I can have too many cookbooks! I already do! But if they have enough pretty pics.........maybe.

My mother will never buy anyone a knife. Bad luck, ya know? I bought HER a Wusthof santoku a couple of years ago. Addressed the card "To Michael, From Michael" - told her she could borrow it. Finally settled on accepting her payment of $1. Superstitious old girl. Mistake anyway - HATE that knife!
No idea what I'd do with the rest of that stuff. Well, except the mesh thong.
