All I can say is "Beautiful". Great job and I am truly jealous.

no comment! maybe civileggineer will weigh in, he seems to know a lot about wood frame construction for some reason.

LOL. Well, me and engineers don't get along right now, but one did look at my plans. Prolly a good thing. 6x6 posts are sunk 3 feet into the ground, each in 27 cubic feet of concrete (3x3x3 holes). Lag bolts are sticking out on all sides to "grab" the concrete and prevent pole from coming straight out. Main beam mounted to posts with steel T anchor bolted through. Rafters and ceiling ties are secured with hurricane anchors. 2x6 tongue and groove roof decking is screwed in.
But even still you wouldn't have the power to jinx me anyways. haha.
Thanks man. I do think some good hours will be spent in there. Hope all is well up yonder.

Professional work there! Looks great

Glad to hear it re he engineers. To he honest, I did express a concern to a friend, and mentioned that I'd feel better if the posts were sunk deep in concrete giving you a moment connection of sorts at the foundation, but I said ' no one does that'
glad you did that!ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante -
Fantastic....add fire pit and get ready for winter egging

Very nice. Nights will be great with the lights. Best of luck.

Gorgeous!!!

Chris..very nicely done! Looks like a great place for a party. A metal roof will really finish it off.
-
Looks great Chris. I've looked at tons of different slate and concrete tiles but like we talked about with all the trees I think you'll be happier with the metal. Like others said I would add the ridge vent. Sure wish I could make the christening.

Very Very Nice

Man, that is AWESOME! Enjoy!

Wow, the hut looks terrific! A great place for cookin and hanging out with friends. Really nice work. Enjoy!
:cheer: -
That looks brilliant - and as others have said the detailing makes it.
That is some serious roofing t&g - just wondering why you did it one way up on one side and the other way up on the other or is that just how it came out.
I've got hut envy.
Actually I've already got hut envy from my neighbour here in Scotland - think Argentine parillia hut with Loch views!
One day I'll build something, perhaps I should aim to start with a table....... -
Nature Boy, how was the christening of the new gathering spot?
