    (fish and LR) color on those fish is amazing... beautiful
    do they retain that as they grow or do they soften?

    alot has to do with spawning seasons, browns are spawning now til maybe mid december. some waters give better colors as well, browns in one lake may almost be silver and easy to confuse with a landlock salmon like whats in winni and 2 ponds over will have those nice colors like LR has in his pic. brook trout up in northern new hampshire will turn really dark red this time of year with the spawn. this one was caught mid summer, the color would become brighter mid fall
