Flo,[p]A platesetter, IMHO, is the best add-on you can get. It allows for so many more cooking options. [p]Steve-B
  • Flo, plate setter, a customized grid lifter from "Lawn Ranger", an ash tool. You may want a second grill so you can do two levels of cooking in the Egg, also.Enjoy the Egg, it is AWESOME !!

Flo, A remote thermometer is handy to monitor internal temps of butts, briskets etc. A oven thermometer (placed on the rack)is handy when you are learning the relationship between dome temps and rack temps. Also keep a journal and record the information from your cooks.

"Also keep a journal and record the information from your cooks."[p]Someone told me this years ago.[p]BEST BBQ advice I've ever had.[p]I have become pretty religious about entering info on the cooks I do. I use Word and keep a separate file for each time of meat or food.[p]Toy Man

    Toy Man,
I keep my hand written entries in a 3 ring binder and indexed. Here is a good link on logs (parden the pun)to check out. At the bottom you can download in excel or pdf formats. It is three pages long (tabs at bottom in excel) and you can edit it.

thirdeye,[p]Sheesh, those are more in-depth than any dive logs I've seen! The difference is - my life could depend on my dive notes. LOL

    thirdeye,
Thanks for all the info (From Everyone). Could Hamburgers, Sausage and even Steak today, can't believe how fast everything cooks. The journal idea is great.
