Spent a few days last week at Mexico Beach....
Sun, sand, seashells, and a gull with a fish! You may have to zoom to see it, but it's there

Great photos elzbth, that looks like a fun trip. I would love to go exploring in that part of the state sometime. It's so nice not to have to look at those/these beaches covered with oil. I'm not sure where all the oil went but at least it doesn't look like it is on our beaches.
Thanks for sharing,
Blair

It was absolutely wonderful. Mexico Beach is a great place to get away from it all - great beach, not a lot of commercial development, matter of fact no fast food joints - only locally owned, small restaurants. If you go, you have to eat at "Killer Seafood" - looks like a biker bar from the street - the food was "killer"!
Thanks for looking - as I've told you before, I always look forward to your photographs.

Are there any beaches in your area covred in oil?
-
and I completely forgot about the drink in my hand....believe me it was there!

Truthfully, the beaches around Gulf Shores/Dauphin Island were never "covered" with oil. It was a huge media event, and definitely some oil on the beaches - but from what I've seen no significant damage. A lot of griping about BP! Have to wonder where it all went - and if the seafood is really safe to eat. I can tell you I had the best oysters I've eaten in years last week in Appalachicola (sp?)...

Thanks Elizabeth, kind words like yours make it all the more fun.

Thanks again Elizabeth, that was the Buck Moon last July 24th. The funny thing about photographing the moon is that it always looks pretty much like it did the last time I photographed it.
