I was wondering if anybody here was cooking at Western Days in Yorkown Texas this weekend. Walking in Saturday night to see Roger Craeger and Cross Canadian Ragweed play, I walked by the cooking area and saw a Big Green Egg flag and I got curious. Unfortunately I was with a group of people and nobody would wait for me to go look and see.

BTW, Cross Canadian Ragweed put on a great show. Too bad it was their last one in Texas ever. They are breaking up after this tour.

Oh, and more off topic, stopped by Smitty's in Lockhart Saturday morning. (They open at 7am on sat!) and got some great bbq. Brisket, ribs and sausage. I do have some pics, but they are on the camera at home.

I guess it wasn't anybody here. Was worth checking.

Anyway, to keep this bbq related here are some pictures from Satureday night. As usual when we go down to the inlaws ranch, somebody decides what we are gonna eat, groceries are bought and then everything gets dumped in my lap since her dad cooks everything to shoe leather. This time they decided on some fajitas. Nothing fancy, just some store bought pre-marinated fajitas and a link of sausage. Here's what I had to work with. Sorry its not on a big green egg, but thought you might still enjoy anyway.

Oh, another off topic part of this trip.......Does anybody recognize this place?

Usually we drive down from Dallas on Friday after work. By the time we get to Lockhart, all the bbq joints are closed. This time we spent Friday night at a friend's house in Austin and hit the road early Saturday morning. For those curious, the only place bbq place open in the morning in Lockhart is Smitty's. They open at 7, the rest don't open till 10 (Blacks) and not sure about Kruez. So we finally got to try some brisket, ribs and sausage from Smitty's. Tasty. Sorry the pics aren't all that great.

    Thanks for looking.
