this was my first brisket Ive ever cooked, not on the egg just period. I had some issues early on this morning with it being hotter than I wanted. Ended up cooking about 12 hours untill it was what I felt like was tender.
Then wrapped in foil and put in cooler for 4 hours until the gf got off work.
Here is it injected and slathered with mustard and dizzy rub
Here it after 12 hours before I foiled
And some of the left overs
I do need to work on my carving skills, I dont really know what I was doing just kinda went at it across the grain. The GF thought it was really good but I thought it was a little tough. Overall it was good however.

Gotta love the smoke ring

fiercetimboo17, that's a nice looking first brisket. I'm still learning to make a consistently moist brisket. I agree, that is a nice smoke ring!

Looks good to me I am still attempting to master brisket - they say practice makes perfect! Goodness knows I'm trying...

That's a nice looking brisket for your first one. Everytime you cook a brisket, you'll learn something new that will help you to alter your technique. Looks like your really close.
Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

and the next great brisket...

Man a brisket is voo doo science to start with!! Look to me you did great on your first on and as was said really nice ring!

Very nice smoke ring. Some people claim they can't get a good smoke ring on the egg, but every brisket I've done, looks like yours. Brisket looks fantastic, but as previously mentioned, it is a more difficult cook. Keep practicing!
