If you can make it up to Atlanta (well Tucker) then you might consider attending a class. Here is a link to the schedule.

I haven't tried either of these yet but they get good feedback here.

You might want to try this; Mad Max turkey. I changed my method of twenty years to doing this several times a year.

Someone made a great turkey at eggfest yesterday. Put a 15lb turkey on the BGE turkey stand, drizzle with melted butter and cover with BGE creole seasoning. Cook at 350 until meat is 170 degrees. I thought it was fantastic.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.
You are really in for a treat. This will be year 5 on egg'n a Turkey. The egg is a fantastic cooker especially for a good turkey. The breast is very moist and if you add flavor wood to the lump it will produce a wonderful light (or heavy) smoked turkey.
I will never cook a turkey in the oven again. To me egg'd turkey is much better than fried turkey.
Don't forget to read the egg manual, watch the video and calibrate your dome thermometer.
Mad Max has a wonderful detailed procedure of cooking a turkey on the egg. I have modified some of the fixings to suit our likes but will continue to use his method for whole turkey cooks.
The results are always moist and a wonderful taste.
Big'un was kind enough to put the link to Mad Max's detailed instructions so jump over and take a look. It looks a little intimidating but it is an easy process.
Here are a couple of my cooks generally using Max's instructions.

Look at how juicy the turkey comes out.
Chicken or turkey will always be moist if you cook to proper food temperature.
One of the most useful tips I have ever received from the forum is learn to cook to proper food temperature. Use time as a guide only.
There are other very useful tips on cooking turkey and different turkey cooks, here are a few.
Follow Big'un's link in the above post for Mad Max Turkey.
This next site has some great information on all kinds of cooks so don't cheat yourself out of some great learning and great food cooks spend some time at the home page and peruse through his site.
