I should have done this years ago
Hello all on the forum. I just picked up a large BGE last Saturday and have been cooking on it every day since. I have cooked in the past with a Hondo and thought it produced good fair, that is until I used the BGE. Ribs, Butts, and chicken all the best. The reason I write is to say thanks to all the fine folk on the forum. I have been lurking for a couple of weeks, reading everything I could and have followed your advice on many items and recipes, and they are all right on the mark. You have saved me much time and testing. The only problem I have is that we may have ruined my two good hunting dogs, both English Springer Spaniels, all they do now is point to the BGE waiting for the food to finish . Thanks to all you fine folks. Deacon

Larry Haynes,
Welcome to the family. As Kenny stated we are here for you.
-
Larry Haynes, So maybe your dogs are actually a different breed..."Barbecue Spaniels"...has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
-
Larry Haynes,[p]Great to hear about a "born again" BBQer! For me, I was a convert from gas. I recommend you make an offering to the Egg more than once a week. Some on the forum are 4 or 5 times-a-weekers![p]Keep the coals glowin'[p]Smokey

KennyG, Thank you, and I most assuredly will take you up on the offer of info. this weekend the big one, cooking for 20 folks, 3 cookers going, only one BGE
-
JJ,Thanks for the welcome and it's nice to be around like minded folks. Seems like a friendly lot and mostly well feed.

Larry Haynes,[p] You had me scared when i read how you runied two hunting
dogs. I am a slow reader so it took me a while to get
past that & find you did not go low & slow with them.
Hee Hee.
Welcome[p] Earl

Larry Haynes,[p]Welcome to the family and forum. As for the Spaniels, show them an empty Egg, show them an uncooked bird, and then give them a taste of the finished bird. This should bring them around.[p]Spin
