SmokinJ: We are absolutely in love with the JH Pecan Rub. Tastes like a BBQ Potato Chip if you try it from the bottle (Not a good thing IMO), but on chicken or pork, after cooking, it is awesome!! Add some Carnivore Robust at the end, incredible! Wasn't much a fan of the other JH's, but the Pecan is our favorite store bought.

JH Pecan Rub is one of my favorites also. I discovered it a couple years ago and have been through many bottles since. Good on chickens, butts, or ribs. Cant go wrong with it. Also, I hope you ordered some of the spud rub. If not, add it to your list next time. A little bit of olive oil and spud rub on the outside of a potatoe will give you that crusty, flavorful outside that you want. Great stuff for sure.

another vote for pecan rub, use it on everything, can't go wrong.

Like Jh Pecan on pork. I go back and forth among JH Pecan, Dizzy dust, and BBBR on pork. I also use JH Brisket.
-
I use only JH Pecan rub on my pork. Haven't tried any of the other JH rubs.
Love that stuff with Blues Hog sauce at the end of the cook. -
The wife got me JH Garlic butter rub that I love on everything. Ribs, chicken, even mashed potatoes and gravy. I later bought the Hot Wing rub for when i egg buffalo wings and love it as well. I've been just as happy with JH as i have with Dizzy Pig.

Apple Jerk Chicken Rub on a spatchcock chicken is absolutely great. Be sure to put some under the skin too.

am I missing something??? I just went to JH website and could not find the spud rub anywhere. Did they discontinue it or am I just missing it?? Can anyone else find it?? If you do post a link to it please

Love it for those meats where we want something a little sweet - especially pulled pork. I use the Apple Rub. When I use it, I find myself sneaking a taste straight from the bottle! Good stuff.

Another vote for JH Pecan rub. I used it two nights ago on some split chicken breast. YUMMIES.
-
Ditto on the pecan. I also really like the Mojave Garlic and Texas Chicken Tickler. I use them on almost any poultry.Food & Fire - The carnivorous ramblings of a gluten-free grill geek.

i love the jh pecan rub. i use it all the time.

Thanks for input. Well I received all 13 of my rubs. I tried a couple from the bottle and they were ok. I'm hoping they taste different when used for cooking. Tomorrow some bourbon rub chicken.
-
Smokin J: They will taste different after cooking. Remember I said the JH Pecan tasted just like BBQ Potato chips out of the bottle (which turned me off)...NOTHING like that after the cook. You will have to try them, and just like a good BBQ sauce, they morph when cooked.

It took me forever to find it, but I finally found it. It's under the wood flavor section.
