photobucket trojan??????

5:30AM i was just getting into photobucket and outlook was downloading e-mail and i got a trojan,, trend micro has done a good job scanning e-mail so i suspect it came from photobucket.. not sure but be carefull

    there is a fake virus that keeps coming from photobucket, it really screws things up if you dont catch it fast enough. its a scam to buy an antivirus program that wont help.

  • thanks .. i could not get rid of the fake microsoft warning window .. malwarebytes finally got me cleaned up
    now i am afraid to go back to photobucket,.
    i got to switch to something else ...

    im pretty sure its in the adds on pbucket. if you dont catch it quick enough it will disable malwarebytes and other programs. my puter guy needed to connect to a separate hard drive that was clean to clear it up. the name in the microsoft warning window keeps changing, i think mine was called internet security 2010 but ive seen it called all sorts of things, very annoying, my new windows 7 with updated norton seems to work well against it

    I caught that last winter. I use smugmug now. I suspect that since Photobucket is free to users, they have ads, and those ads plant a scam. I to call in help to get rid of it. The $35 I paid for smugmug is much cheaper than getting help for that a couple times...

    I had the same thing about a year ago. It nearly ruined my computer and I lost a lot of my files, especially photos. :angry:
    I switched to Flickr, which is owned and operated by Yahoo, no problems since B)
