Stuffing a Turkey For Doing on the BGE

We are going to my son's house for Thanksgiving. He is doing deep-fried turkeys. However later that weekend we have plans for doing our own turkey on the BGE.[p]I have successfully done stuffed game hens before on the BGE. Shouldn't be a problem if you don't use chips for smoking the turkey... just lump charcoal?[p]I do know some people don't approve of stuffing a bird at all, but I'm not one of those people.[p]Chris in Pearland, TX[p]

  • Chris Marksberry,
My friend and teammate Mad Max says that bread-based stuffings obsorb way too much smoke flavor in the egg, and he doesn't do stuffed birds in the egg anymore. [p]I would think that a non bread-based stuffing might work, though. Maybe something with meat and rice, or just meat and veg, would work well. (rice might have same problem as the bread, but not sure). Maybe Max will chime in here.[p]Brett
