Well, it's Marine Cook's fault. After seeing all his posts the last few weeks about his Mini, I went and bought one, which arrived last night. It's Molly Shark's fault, too, because she said she couldn't live without her Mini. It's Nature Boy's fault, too, for telling me about searing squid on his. I blame all of them. Now I need some good cooks to break in this little beast. Any shared recipes, ideas, or advice would be welcomed.
Happy holidays,
Mike

Michael L,
Pork chops do real good on the mini egg.I slather them with mustard and sprinkle them with some Dizzy Pig rub and cook them at 350° until they reach 145°.

YB,
Great photo! How did you make that raised grid?
Mike

He took a New York Strip, sprinkled it with Dizzy Dust Cowlick, wrapped it and fridged overnight then seared the heck out of it and served it rare. [p]So, steak would be my suggestion..... hot and fast. Crunchy on the outside, pink on the inside.
The mini's a furnace of a cooker![p]John [p]

Michael L,
The raised grid is on a stainless steel circle 1 1/2" x 9" x 1/8" thick.

Michael L, if you have a nine inch springform cake pan(the kind where the side hinges and removes from the bottom) you can use it with bottom removed to raise a second grid in the mini.

WooDoggies,
dang, there it is again, STILL my favorite egg picture of all time. ..
-
Michael L, My favorite of all time was Houndog's lobster recipe, Dwell in the Shell. I like Shake 'n Bake pork chops indirect too. And hamburgers. And chocolate chip cookies! JCA

WooDoggies,
I can almost taste it from here ......yummers
-
YB,
Where can I get one of those? If you made it, how did you do it?
Thanks,
Mike

WooDoggies,
Awesome picture. Yeah, I'm willing to blame BBQFan1, too. I hope he doesn't mind that I left him off my initial post.
Thanks,
Mike

Michael L,[p]I get blamed for everything! Sigh. Can't argue with this one. The mini is an angel. If I were stranded on a desert island, what would I want? Mascara and my mini. And a broadband connection, of course, but that's a given.[p]It's just a quantity thing. If it will fit on the mini..do it. Nothing will get as hot as the mini. It is the best steak-searer (is that a word?) in the world. [p]mShark-the-convincing
