Those pork chops look heavenly. I'm going to try some of Richard FL's Kona Coffee rub on a rib eye tonight, can't wait.
  • I bet that was good, Mickey.

I used to put strong coffee in my BBQ mopping sauce (when I mopped). I may play around with a rub with coffee in it. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • Mickey,

This was my mopping sauce. I used it on brisket. I may try it again, on the Egg this time.

    1 cup coffee, strong
    1 cup tomato ketchup
    1 tablespoon pepper, freshly ground
    1 tablespoon salt
    ½ cup Worcestershire sauce
    ¼ cup butter or margarine
    1 tablespoon sugar

    Simmer for 30 minutes

The chops look really good. I have an odd question does the coffee give off a strong coffee taste? I know that using mustard with a rub you don't taste the mustard is this the same with the coffee?

    Thanks

Margie it is more than the mustard but not a lot. More earthy (?)
    if such a word.
Much more pepper, very little coffee.

  • Looking fantastic Mickey. I recently tried the DP's Red eye express on a steak and liked it very much. I love searing down low like that. Have a great work week. ;) Tim
