I did a 14 pounder on sunday, the breast was 160 in 2 hours, even with a hard start to temp 300 tops. I thinks my lump was damp but worked OK. The legs could have gone another hour IMHO. Man oh man it was great anyway. Did it in a rack, breast side down first then rotated breast up later. Inverted Platesetter and a 9X13 pan below the bird. But two hours, I was unprepared!, the bird sat around for 2 hours covered in foil and towels. It was never dryed out. Vaccumed the remainder for later. Maybe pictures later

tach18k, "The legs could have gone another hour". . i know i keep repeating this, but do the bag of ice cubes on the breasts for 20 minutes right before putting it in the egg... .that way the legs and breast will be done at the same time. ...
