Mushrooms and onions for steak

Hey all,
I am about to invest in a CI skillet for my large and I had a question...
If I were to sear a steak in the CI skillet, would I have enough time to cook up some mushroom and onion toppings in the CI skillet while the steak rests? Also, should I add anything to the skillet for the veggies? I haven't done many steaks but that sounds like it could have potential. Thanks!

Sure. I use a lot of cast iron items and they perform great in the Egg. Get a pan small enough so it doesen't hog all of your cooking grate. You might consider a griddle too.
