I am sure there are thousands, but does anyone have a good suggestion for a good pulled pork rub recipe. I know I can get ready made Dizzy Pig but I have a ton of spices already.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

  • I nice kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper is really good for a simple butt

If you want a nice bark add in light or dark brown sugar to to the salt and pepper. Or add turbinado sugar (most folks stay away from refined sugar).

    Did you get my email?

I enjoy the line of DP rubs but if I am low then I fall back to...

    oil or mustard.
    Salt - medium covering
    pepper - medium covering
    onion powder - heavy covering
garlic powder - light to medium covering
cumin - light (almost forgot about this one)
    paprika - heavy coat

If I use cayenne that goes on first and a medium to light coat.

This is good on beef or pork butt.
