What's that colored paper under the V-rack? You didn't use a phone book to elevate the turkey in the cooker, did you John? LOL

That's the label on the roasting pan that I almost forgot to take off.... oops.[p]Also forgot to add wood, so had to take everything off, add wood, and put it back (of course, not as easy said as done when you're using Mad Max's special pie pan with water heat barrier!!!).

So this is a 'cook in progress' is it? Well, Mad Max is one of the many fine cooks on this forum; you'll be fine if you're following his turkey recipe. Let us know how it turns out....

JohnBrowning,[p]Nice bird.....However, looks as though your head start was what I was thinking over the past month. I bought a turkey fryer and have darn near fried a turkey every weekend. Some weekends 2-3..turkey sandwiches, turkey pie, turkey salad, turkey soup, turkey and rice, turkey and beer...you name it.....At this point I could care less if I see another turkey for awhile...However, my mom informed me that they have a fresh bird from the fresh market and their BGE standing ready.....Maybe I'll sneak in a small butt as well!!

Yeah I know how ya feel. This will be my first Thanksgiving BGE style. I have cooked Turkeys every weekend for a month. I think everyone including the dogs are tired of turkey here! Jon
