BGE lid not closing all the way

We really like our BGE. I've had it uncovered all summer and went to cook my first turkey for the season and the lid would not close completely. I put a few brisks on the handle to kept it down, which helped some. Does anyone have any suggestion?

    We had a sunny morning and my husband had a few extra minutes to look at the BGE situation. He loosened the band on the lid of the BGE enough that the ceramic eased itself down into the band, the gaskets fit tightly again.
