What is a "platesetter"

I know it's used as a heat barrier, but what does it look like, where do I get one?[p]Thanks!

<p />JohnBrowning,[p]I'm sure you'll get lots of pictures; here's the basic
new platesetter, what you can't see in this photo is that at each of the three 'edges' is a 3+inch leg, which sits either atop the firebox, or, inverted (with the broad side atop the firebox) holds up the grid.
I ordered mine from an online retailer; they're not hard to find (your local dealer can get one).

I think the platesetter is a necessity, not an option. Makes cooking a whole lot easier. No flames. Easier temp control. I use it for everything I'm not trying to sear.
