mike bechtol,
I'm wondering the same thing!! How many pounds can the standard large egg accomodate? Hopefully someone will answer soon!

mike bechtol,
last year i did a 20 pounder in a roasting in my large bge, at 325 for almost 7 hours. . .it was too big to set up on the grid over inverted plate setter, so i had to have grid in normal place on the fire ring, with a water pan suspended underneith the grid. ..i have an old oval turkey roasting pan that just fit into the egg. . .[p]btw, the turkey was the best i'd ever made in over 20 years. . ..

mike bechtol,
We've done 18 lbs. I'm sure that I've read that someone here has done 22 lbs. In a V-rack with the tail cut off, should fit.
