Awesome Weekend Butt!!

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
Well my 2 pork butts (5.3 and 6.4 lbs) that I cooked on the weekend turned out awesome. The pork tasted great and was so juicy. The only problem was that it took 22 hours for the 5.3 lbs and 23 hours for the 6.4 lb to get to 200. It was worth the wait, but I wish it would have cooked sooner.[p]The temperature was stable at about 235 throught the cook. For my first low and slow, I was happy that the fire did not go out overnight. I used an inverted plate setter with drip pan and put my 2 butts in the V-rack.[p]Also, at the end a crust was formed on the outside of the butts. At the begining, I put a rub on the meat followed by some mustard.[p]thanks for all of your help,[p]Hoss
