Dinner and hummers

Spatchcocked (or at least my feeble attempt) chicken, grilled okra, tomato garlic salad for dinner. Hummingbirds have been quite active at our house - more so than I can ever recall. It's been a joyous day - just want to thank everyone here for the warm welcome I've been given - this is a great forum! I wanted to post a short video clip of the birds, but am giving up - it just doesn't want to work. I have to work tomorrow, so it's time to turn out the lights.

Will have to try tomorrow - otherwise I will have a meltdown. Photobucket hates me today

OMG - I am embarassed beyond words. Didn't know what I had posted - I don't know what to say. One way or another I am going to post a picture of the D@$#@ birds!! OMG.

Not sure why you are upset. Men love hummers.
They get poor mileage, but that's not the point really. -
Oh don't be silly, post early and often...I think I love you. LOL

I've not laughed at myself like this for a long time! You guys (and this forum) are the best!

I'm glad you replied to this. Just was thinking how I could keep my reply civil, but thank you

Looks great. Never seen grilled okree before. Did it turn out right? Ours is just starting to make. Dang rabbits ate it down 2 times before I strung an electric wire!

It was delicious. Lightly coated with olive oil, kosher salt. Grilled direct - turning several times until it looked cooked. I'm sorry I can't be more specific - that's just the way I cooked them - they were browned, but not burned. We like okra pan fried with cornmeal - this is an excellent alternative! (I only lost 2 pods to the egg - they were small and I wasn't really paying attention).

I'm sorry, but alas I must decline....I don't think my husband would understand. Actually, he's still trying to believe that I really didn't know what I posted  -

If you like okra - I have to say that I thought it was some of the best I've had this summer. Thanks for looking!

We really like it - it's very easy to do. Coat with olive oil, I salted with kosher salt, and grill direct. I just turned it until it was browned lightly - and I thought it was cooked. Hope you enjoy it if you try it!
