Very crappy outside yesterday, we went from a heat wave on wednesday to friggen late fall temps. Had a nice rain coming down ,sideways and was pretty sure I was going to lose the gazebo a couple of times.
Great time for some outdoor cookin.
Had beans soaking and ready to go,so I went ahead as planned.
Put this together with lots of ideas from the forum.
Chopped onion, green pepper, jalepino, some honey, chicken broth, tomatoe paste,a friends hot spice mix and great northern beans. It had ham and bacon with sweet baby rays bbq sauce
Once this got cooking, man it was hard to leave the lid down. It was on for about 9 hrs but had a slow start. Still learning with the new DO
I had these in the fridge overnight and they were even better today.
A couple of pics
the stuff

Everyone in the pool

Man, if you could only smell these

Thanks to everyone who have given bean recipes and advice. Your the reason I was able to pull this off
Shane
Edit: Crap!!! Just opened the cupboard.
Forgot to add the Apple pie filling.
Guess I have a reason to try this again, soon

Shane, I'm laughing so hard at your post. Your last sentence kind of sums up how I cook!
Your beans still look delicious despite the absence of the apples. -
 Thanks Rebecca, good to know there is someone else that cooks like this
