Laptop "cheeping"

Just noticed this cheeping sound everytime a new page loads . . . 4 yr old + laptop . . .

    i would turn off the speaker completely and see if the noise is mechanical (i.e. the hard drive dying) or just an "alert" like a pop-up blocker as tweev suggests..

    Went into Control Panel and muted the sounds . . .
    No more cheeping each time a page loads!

    i fixed a beeping in my car by turning up the stereo to drown it out.

    both of us are just avoiding the real issue.

    best to find out why you are beeping. it may be an alert from your anti-virus, or an adblocker, etc.

    might wanna play around and look into your browser settings

    not really 'fixed' if you have to turn off the speakers :laugh:
