BBQ'd Plums

My neighbour told me I could pick all the plums I want from his tree. So for this afternoon's cook I thought why not throw some on the egg with a bit of brown sugar sprinkled on top.



Pretty tasty when they were warm but when they cooled down to room temp you could really taste the smokeyness. Not bad overall, but I'll be serving them with ice cream next time.

Looks good, I bet it'll also taste good with DP Pineapple Head. Perhaps grilling it after a clean burn would help to reduce the smokiness? just wondering.

I think the burn was pretty clean because they went on about 2hrs after the egg got going. I made hamburgers prior to the plums but I let it burn for a bit before I put the plums in. Maybe some unlit wood chips got going?

I don't have any DP Pineapple Head...did you get that at BBQS?

I got initiated into DP rubs courtesy of Cookn Biker, good stuff. Yes, Ontario Gas BBQ started carrying the full assortment recently. You should try DP Raging River on salmon, basted and drizzled with pure maple syrup butter!
