I have found 2 forks are the best for me, but I bought these about a year ago. They work well also.

Here are some on ebay for $11.49 and free shipping. Not sure how much shipping would be to Mexico. I got a set from them a few weeks ago. Mike

I got the paws/claws awhile back and I used them for quite a bit. now I will mostly just use my hands. I put on some vinyl gloves (just simple food grade) and just use my hands. I like to have the fine tuned control of my fat little grabbers. If I am doing more than 2 or 3 butts and I will break them out, but 9 times out of 10 I just use my own paws. -
Beli, I just use two of these. But bear claws are MUCH less expensive!

EDIT: After that, if I want authentic NC style, I'll chop it up with a cleaver in each hand.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I forgot the site. I just did a search and got it online. The place was good priced and low shipping costs. They are easy to find.

Best price on the net I believe! Besides that check their rubs and sauces - quite an offering!

I'm with TheDirtyBurger. I break the butts free from the grid with a large spatula and pick them up with a pair of plastic coated pot holders. When the butts are falling apart tender, I seem to have more control over the meat cradled in my hands. By the way, you have a beautiful patio area.

Hi Beli,
Get a set of these:

I bought a set of the plastic ones and they got all deformed from the heat the first time I used them to lift my butt off the grate and pull the hot meat.
I have enjoyed the metal ones in the link above much better. -
I like me some butt too Beli! I have the bear claws but I only use them when I reheat pork that has been vacuum sealed. The meat gets packed so tightly and the claws are great for loosening it up. -RP

We sell them here at outdoor home. They run $13.29, and work great. you can use them to lift meats or shred roasts.
They are not on our site but I will make sure we get them on there monday or tuesday.

This is where I got mine:

I find they make the work easier- especially if you're doing multiple butts!
I like their dry marinades too. I got formula #1 and have found it very good on pork and chicken. If I could only have 3 rubs in my cabinet, this would be one of them. -
Thanks for the link, Bob. They have some interesting stuff. One of my favorite things to do is try new rubs and sauces. They have good prices and I will definitely try their stuff out. Their sauce won the best sauce award at the Jack Daniels BBQ Competition. I will try it. Have you tried it yet?
