Well guys I have been on this forum every day for the past two weeks. I have read the archives and was all set to buy the large green egg. I went to our local dealer and talked to him about a large egg. Well after talking to him my wonderful wife looked at me and said why not wait and get the one that you really want so we will wait for the exlarge green egg. OK, but while I am waiting does someone have the size of the XLBGE so I can have my table ready?[p]Smoke Signal

Smoke Signal,
I am also waiting for the XL BGE and would like to know when it is going to be available. The BGE website gives a projected date of mid November, but when I called the local dealer, he did not know.[p]Does anyone here have any info on this?

MEC, Our dealer said they would be out the first of the year. He also said that he was waiting on ordering any large bge's because everyone was asking about the XLBGE.

[ul][li]XL BGE Info[/ul] -
Smoke Signal,
I'll probably be banned from the forum forever, but here goes. After seeing the XL and knowing what the approximate price is gonna be I made 2 decisions. One, I'm not sure if I like the XL due to it being so squat and the coals being so close and it is so huge I imagine it takes some time to build up heat and probably 4 times as long to dispense that heat (I have to use a cover since I don't have an enclosed area).
Two, for the appx price of the XL I can almost buy 2 larges, and could definitely get a large and a small and probably all the fixin's for both of them.[p]These are just my own personal reasons, but I am still considering getting an XL just for the volume of chicken and ribs that could be cooked...lol

Smoke Signal, You have one fantastic wife !! Whatever size Egg you get ... you will be both amazed and thrilled at it's versatility and what food cooked on it tastes like ! Are you normally cooking for groups of 15 or 30 ? You may need the XL. Less than that? I would go for a large... All Eggs cook from both the top and bottom (convection heat from the dome ceramic)...so you can double your cooking area with a second , elevated grill. Eggs not only make the best tastng food, they can produce much more food than you would suspect based on looking at the grill sizes. Easily double what a gasser can do with the same grill area....Welcome to the GREEN CULT !!
