has anyone got a table with doors on the front, either ones that swing out of the way or that retract once open, inside the table? If so, have you had any issues related to the heat?[p]I am also considering a vertical column in the middle between two eggs of three drawers. Has anyone had drawer issues relating to the heat?[p](I really tried to word this so someone wouldn't post the underpants guy egging in the snow, but I guess it's inevitable).

    <p />Mark Backer,
I used louvered doors on mine. Works fine. And as for the heat buildup under the top, there isn't any to speak of. Plastic or metal drawers would work. I keep a plastic tray within inches of my Egg base and it has never given me a lick of problems in five years. I also prefer setting my Egg on the little ceramic feet instead of on a slab of some kind. The feet allow for ventilation where direct contact with stones does not. I think the louvers look pretty nice too.[p]Spring Chicken

    Mark Backer,
Heat ain't the issue. Moisture is the culprit for most bad things regarding woodworking. The possible problem I mentioned in the e-mail regarding the drawers was about moisture causing issues with either the ball bearings or the wood slide, depending on which way you decide to go. I believe if we go with the epoxy slides, they should be fine. May require a regular WD-40 schedule, but otherwise wouldbe fine. Unless the drawers fill with water during one of our torrential rain...just kidding.
