Bought some nice, thick steaks the other day. Doctored them up a bit and after cooking some ABTs and taters on the large, I threw them on once the egg got up in temp a bit. Damned good steaks. However, the consensus was I could have just doubled up on the ABTs and skipped the steaks![p]There has got to be an easier way to prep the peppers...

randomegger,[p]My wife has taken to using bell peppers (and other sweet peppers) and just loading slices with the ingredients rather than using whole peppers, and she seems to think it's much faster.[p]I wouldn't know. I just drop hot embers between my toes.

Mark Backer,[p]I had looked at the jarred stuff and thought about trying it next time. We'll see how that goes over.[p]And, truth be told, I burned the hell out of my big toe a few weeks ago stepping on one of those wayward coals.

randomegger,[p]Well, I was thinking about that the other day myself. The part that slows me down is the cream cheese. What would happen if you used a softer cream cheese and shot it through like a pastry tube or such. Just line those peppers up and wham wham. I find the idea strangely appealing.[p]mSharcke

mollyshark,[p]Interesting. Cleaning out the membrane slows me down. I use a butter kinfe to place cream cheese in place.[p]I've learned to lay out bacon to room temp to help stretch the bacon for thinner strips to help get crispier and wraps easier.[p]CWM

    mollyshark,
Funny you should mention that. I was considering using the whipped cream cheese (much softer). I know Buzzy used the whipped cream cheese on his ABT's at the fest and they were wonderful! [p]Since I don't own any pastry tubes I thought about using a cake decorating tip I learned years ago...put the cream cheese in a small Ziploc bag and cut off one of the bottom corners. Walla - a homemade pastry tube. Just squeeze the cheese through the hole - much faster than spreading it with a knife/spoon.[p]What do ya think?

    My dear sweet mollyshark,
During our years together I have discovered that ANYTHING connected to food will elicit one of these two phrases from you, "strangely appealing" or "I'm a carnivorous woman."
I'm trying to put together a trip for next spring that will take me to the Eggfest in MAryland and then let me continue down to FL for some spring bass fishing. Any chance you'll be at that shindig?
I heard you are looking a little skinny maybe you should have a little Ben & Jerry's and I'll feel better. ;>)
